The legendary Nazionale and Rossoneri player has told Massimiliano Allegri to concentrate on the remaining matches and not dwell on the Muntari disallowed
goal.
Great controversy stirred after the referee did not allow the goal to stand by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Sulley-Muntari-c34312 in their Serie A match against Juventus. The ball had cleared the line before
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Gianluigi-Buffon-c14833 pulled it back into play. Milan had complained a lot with calls for the introduction of goal-line technology surfacing.
However, this incident took place weeks ago, but the Diavolo head coach has reflected back on their match against the Bianconeri, stating that a solitary point separates
the two sides, and the dismissal of that goal could come back to haunt them at the end of the season.
The match had ended in a draw and a victory would have given them three-point advantage over Juventus, however Maldini has stated that Allegri should not be stuck in the
past. He stated that there is a need to address the present and work towards making your future better. Staying in the past only adds unnecessary pressure onto the team, pressure which the team can do without, given the time remaining in the season.
The former Rossoneri left-back stated that it was a significant event, but such things happen in football and everything needs to be taken in stride. He also stated that
there should not be any unnecessary squabble between the two sides on the same issue. He remarked:
“It was an important incident, but it is in the past now. In order to relax and focus on your work, you have to forget. It would be better for both sides to avoid further
controversy.”
Maldini remarked that Milan need to concentrate on the competitions they are alive in, and there is a tendency for clubs to slip-up at this stage, he further mentioned:
“In 20 days Milan have lost two of their three objectives for the season, going out of the Champions League and
Coppa Italia, but the Serie A title race is still open. Both Milan and
Juve have a 50 per cent chance of winning the Scudetto, because slip-ups are very common this
season.”
With six rounds remaining in the league, any loss of points could be detrimental to the aspirations of Juve and Milan.
