Pap When You Have Your Period?

Question

Is it ok to have a pap smear at your annual appointment if you have your period? I know it can be messy, but would it alter the results at all? I don't want to cancel my appointment because it will be months before they can get me in.

I thought you were supposed to go 2 weeks after your period if possible...

yes it will change your results but they can change thm back to hw their supposed to be lol... just ring them up if they have a doc willing to do it then it will be okay.. but u need to tell thm..

It depends on the physician. If you are at the end of your period and are simply spotting, it shouldn't be a problem, but many physicians won't perform Paps when a woman is menstruating.
