Paper Feed Problem Sharp AL-1461CS

Question

The automatic feeder won't take paper at all. I see the little gate open up, but the rollers just squeal. After calling Sharp they want me to send the copier/scanner to the warehouse for repair - I'd rather not. Do you have any suggestions?
