Question:

Paper Money and Coin Collectors!!!?

I found a US note with the words "two years after the civil war" printed on the top left of the bill. The bill had been ripped in half and was taped back together so you couldn't see which president was on the bill. It is a great deal larger than the printed money in today's currency. I have looked all morning for some kind of information on it and can not find anything.

  1. It does not sound like a real U.S. Government note for that saying is not printed on any Federal notes. That is why you can not find it. Notes before 1928 were much larger than they are today and even copies of Confederate currency are made in the larger format. You have an item that is in the "I have to see it" department. Try a coin dealer who has a good deal of paper notes for sale also, in fact a couple won't hurt. I can not help without seeing it either. Any answers here would be a guess.
