Paper can be recyled. Can glass be recyled?

Once glass is solidified, can I still recycle it and make into other shapes?

  1. Sure can.  You would need several degrees of heat to reliquify glass but it can certainly be done.  Infact most things are liquid form before its form.

  7. Yes it can be and should be recycled. Most recycling centers will take bottles, jars, etc.. However tempered or window glass is sometimes not taken at recyling centers.

  8. Yes, glass can be recycled professionally. Or I guess you could re-melt it and make stuff out of it if you were feeling artistic.

  15. Glass can be recycled indefinitely as part of a simple but hugely beneficial process, as its structure does not deteriorate when reprocessed. In the case of bottles and jars, up to 80% of the total mixture can be made from reclaimed scrap glass, called "cullet". Cullet from a factory has a known composition and is recognised as domestic cullet. From bottle banks it is known as foreign and its actual properties will not be known.

    Once it is melted you can reshape it.

    There are companies that recycle glass bottles.
