Paper dolls from the 50s?

I want to buy paper dolls for my mom, but I'm not sure which ones to buy her. She loved playing with them when she was younger, so I want to surprise her with them. She was born in 1952, so I assume she played with paper doll in the late 50s to perhaps late 60s. I found these, that I'm considering: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0486281019/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance I assume they're like the ones my mom would have played with? If I get older style ones, I want them to be as close as possible to resembling the ones my mom would have played with. Maybe if someone reading this is about my mom's age, they would know.

My mom also loves Laura Ingalls Wilder, and I found these: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/0694006386/ref=ord_cart_shr?%5Fencoding=UTF8&m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&v=glance

So, I guess my question is... which one? Should I go for the 50s ones? Are those even what paper dolls were like in the 50s-60s? Or should I go with the Laura Ingalls ones? I'm hoping some people born in the 50s might answer here... but any help would great.

Thanks

  1. Buy them both to be sure.

  2. I am a child from the 50's and we played with Paper dolls for years, we seemed to like movie star paper dolls. The came in a paper cover and you cut the clothes out, many had on bathing suits, Like Doris Day. Look on ebay, com  or Ruby Lane.com and ask the seller

    get the old ones!!!!
