Paper jam and possible failure to pull A4 paper ?

canon photocopier seriesiR1018/iR1080 has a jam in the side tray where it can no longer pull any papers but just to make some q***r noise in the process is it the problem with the drum unit or its the pair rubber that pulls the paper that is off the shaft track because it makes a shaft/tractor like noise ! so what should i do to rectify the problem please?
