The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/SC-Freiburg-c40462 striker is thrilled with reported interest from Sunderland and is looking forward to playing in England.
Papiss Demba Cisse has been in prime form again this season after a sensational season last term. The striker finished only behind Mario Gomez in the Bundesliga top goalscorers charts with a staggering 22 goals in the 32 league
games.
The Senegalese attacker has been heavily linked with a move to Sunderland in the English Premier League this January. There was also interest from the likes of Fulham and Blackburn http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385 in the summer last year but the move could
not capitalize as the player signed a new deal.
Cisse claimed that he feels honoured if a team like Sunderland is interested in signing him. He expressed his desire to play in the Premier League some time in his career and admitted that he is inspired by the form and development
of his national teammate, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812, who plays for Newcastle United.
However, the star striker stated that he will discuss the situation with his current side and only then will come up to a decision.
“I'm flattered by the interest of Sunderland and other clubs. I'd like to one day play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749. I love the Premier League and want to make my name there like my mate Demba Ba is doing with Newcastle at the moment. My German
club Freiburg has their say as well and I have big respect to that club who made me who I am today,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Freiburg General Manager Dirk Dufner admitted that they could lose their most important player in this transfer window and is already looking for replacements.
“We're keeping half an eye out on a new striker, because we're unable to actually rule out a move for Papiss,” he claimed.
Papiss Demba Cisse is currently with the Senegalese national team and preparing for the African Cup of Nations in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Equatorial-Guinea-c2892. The player has found the net on nine occasions for the German outfit in the first-half of the
season and it would be interesting to see whether he will return to play in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Germany-c2904 or head to England after the 2012 AFCON ends.
