Parachute?

If you were to make a parachute,to make it stay long in the air which design would be better, an oval, or circle? Or just a plain rectangle?

  1. I have done a countless number of jumps with the US Army and with several civilian companies. I've used style of parachutes during these jumps, and if time in the sky is what you're looking for, then you certainly want to use the rectangle parachute! The circle and oval designs are used by the military because they only provide minimal time in the sky (they don't want targets in the sky for any amount of time). Hope this helps!


  2. The round chute, but it all depends on the material and the density of it.

  3. actually I would go with a paragliding design (rectangular with openings on the front of the aircells). That way you can (on a sunny day) stay in the air until sundown!
