  1. I used to have birds, and they dont always like to be social. You should just continue to try and be very calm with it. Just because it moves away doesnt mean you should stop either. Keep trying until you get the results you want! Its just like having a dog, you have to train it.

  2. I have the same problem sometimes, I usually try to make him jump onto the door of the cage and get on my hand and not a finger, fingers are very thin and not easy to hold onto, and probably scares your bird. Just get him out of his cage and take the cage OUT of the room, that way he cant retreat to his cage. Just keep him calm with treats or seed, possibly a toy, anything he likes really, and pet him or put your hand next to him and he will get used to your hand after some good training. Oh and one more thing, if he is scared of your gloves, rings, or necklaces, or anything else you wear or use around him that scares him, remove it from the room or quit wearing/using it around him. If he's scared of your fingers try your whole hand or arm.

    Hope this helps!

  3. You bird is interpreting your finger in the cage as the "finger command", that is why it is putting both feet on your finger (I think). Most socialization of birds occurs most easily when the bird is out of the cage, not inside the cage.  I would take the bird out, and let it get more used to you.  And only then the bird will get used to you when it is in its cage (which is kind of its own territory).

  4. Use a dowel stick. Then when he gets completely out of the cage have him step up on your finger.
