I want to set up a business parallel importing genuine copies of university textbooks for sale in singapore, from an authorized book distributor in other countries. I know that this is 100% ILLEGAL in Australia unless you obtain permission from the publisher's local branch/headquarters, is it illegal in Singapore as well?

  1. i don't think it is illegal, but i would rather check with the local publishers or copyright owners of such a venture. sometimes it is not cost feasible to parallel import when the publishers or distributors have margins that you can never beat thru parallel importing.
