  1. your trying to be like a machine and that won't work. relax, pay attention to what you are doing and if it didn't work right try something different. now pratice and listen to the one who is trying to instruct you.

  2. Parallel parking is a manoeuver done on your road test to see that you can drive in Reverse and steer in Reverse. It's a backing test too.

When you are backing up on your driving test, look mostly over your shoulder and out the rear window of your vehicle. Don't rely solely on your mirrors . You may miss something important, and you will receive demerit points on your test.

You may occasionally glance forward or in your right hand side mirror to see that you are close enough and parallel with the curb, but only quick glances.

Your Instructor will show you how to parallel park properly. Listen, practice several times until you get all the points into your head..........once you have learned how, it becomes easier. Once you have passed your driver's test, remember to practice it from time to time.

Have fun.........embrace this new life skill which you will use for many years to come.............learn and apply safe habits and you will remain safe on the roads., able to drive for many years............and remember, "anything can happen at any time".............

    THINK AND DRIVE !!!

  3. put your turn signal on before you get to the open spot.  stop your car with the center post lines up with the center post on the car next to you, the one that you want to park behind. (center post = between front and back doors)  look over your shoulder/check your mirrors and blind spots.  put it in reverse.  look over your shoulder for pretty much the rest of this, except when pulling forward to straighten up.

first, go backwards until your back wheel clears the back bumper of the car you are parking behind.  then cut the wheel so you are turning into the spot.  once you are at a 45 degree angle to the curb, turn the wheel slightly the other way.  once your front wheel clears the back bumper of the other car, turn the wheel all the way.  continue to back up until you are into the space.  then pull forwards and backwards to straighten up if needed.

then put the car in park.  at least my test giver guy made me do that.

when you pull out, make sure you turn on your turn signal.
