Paranormal experience?

Has anyone had a paranormal experience?? It seems that throughout my childhood I had them all the time, and then into my 20's, but after I had my first child in my early 30's it doesn't happen as often. Every now and then something will happen. My sister use to say I had a "gift" to know what was going to happen before it actually happened. I lived in a home for nearly 8 years that I would see a ghost and super werid things happened on a daily basis, but now?? Not much, just sometims I will know something is going to happen right before it does happen. So I'm curious do other people have this too?

  1. it is probably because of you concentration.you are so buy with your child that you don't have time to concentrate on other things such as a ghost that passes by your room or what not. usually, paranormal phenomina happens in your early and late ages. almost never the middle ages.

    good luck!

  2. I think there's something to the saying, "There's no such thing as a haunted place, just haunted people."  It could be that you changed as a person so the paranormal events you perceived just didn't happen anymore.

  3. I have had phenomena happen to me. It really bothers me that Ghosts and Spirits are lumped in with Psychics and Mediums. They are two totally different subjects with two totally different explanations. I think you moved from a location where there was a lot of activity to one where there is very little.

  4. This is an interesting idea. My experiences were all when I was younger (elementary and high school).

I do know that the frontal lobe (executive functions) of your brain isn't fully formed until you are about 25 years old.

As the other person posted I did live somewhere else so it's possible that these experiences were location bound.

However, it would be interesting to do a study on people 18-24 and see if they report more experiences than people 25-35. Perhaps, that logical part of our brain creates normal explanation (no matter how unlikely) for our experiences rather than accept something as an unknown.

Of course perhaps we really do search for (and find) the normal answers once that logic piece of the brain kicks in.

Research on children would also be interesting but there are so many ethical and liability issues that it is unlikely to ever be studied.

  5. Every single day of my life and i am thrilled about it.

  6. I would see ghosts when I was younger as well.  I'm 23 now and it doesn't happen as often and I kind of miss it.  The last time I saw something was a tall figure by my bed a couple of weeks ago.

  7. I think it goes hand in hand with innocence , Children can accept things much easier . A deeper connection if you will .

Unless there is an intelligence behind these sightings and the spirits just feel like no one will believe him/her if it manifests  . Or being children , we let our imagination run wild . I have had experiences as a child , and only one as an adult . I would like to believe there is more going on than just heaven and earth . Being a Christian though , it's hard .

    take care .

  8. You need to tune yourself back [what you don't use you lose]remember what you felt each time when it happened.By the way have you ever managed to change anything  when I see/feel the future I can't figure out if it's sometimes  my actions that bring about I'm cycling  down a ally and I know there is a person about to enter/pass the end even though I can't see them do I A,slow down and surprise them or B,go Fast and shock them.

Is the choice determined  by what I can do or will do.

  9. A lot of it does depend upon where you are living.  I see/have a lot less paranormal activity in my life now, but when I do, it is stronger.

Lucky you, it didn't change after I had my children.  If anything I am even more sensitive, but than both my girls are gifted too.

  10. The experiences are not part of you, they are at connected to that certain location. You may have lived somewhere that had something going on and now you are not living there so it is restricted to only that place and not that you have experiences wherever you may be.

Just like you might see accidents on a certain patch of freeway where people are always rushing to get home from work, but you take a drive on an out of the way road and never see any even though the amount of traffic is the same.

The location has it's reasons and circumstances that create what you witness. It is not that you will see accidents everywhere you drive.

Some think that when you are young your mind is more open and that is why you see them when you are young and not when you are older but I believe it is related to "where" you are. Some places are creepy and some are not.

  11. Paranormal could be anything. I consider myself a jinx, saying things that will occur to disturb an unusually quiet moment, also I am drawn to places with negative energy that will have an event happen ( usually bad ), but since I can't prove this, I have to give in to skeptics that say "it's all in your mind" or "just coincidence". I have no problem with that.

  12. id have to say its proberly got more to do with where you live, ive had some real weird experiences in other homes ive lived in, but its never happened since ive moved, into different places, but then sometimes we do get a spirit who comes to us for what ever reason, a friend, or loved one, no matter where we live, they usually have a reason for being around us for that time......

  13. yes,

more so when I was seeking toward God and after I received the gift of the Holy Ghost with the Evidence of speaking in tongues.

With children........your not having enough time to Sense..is all...your too busy.

I had a prophetic dream some years back....God woke me in time to call my son (after having the vision/dream in the middle of the night) and he didn't go fishing/drinking with the guys............and so didn't drown.  When he got my call he had 5 minutes to be out the door, and decided immediately he was not going fishing.

  14. Yes, Premonitions. Saying things and then they happen.

  15. I was six and lived in Trenton , MI . When the family and I were sitting on the living room couch watching TV, they all of the sudden heard a loud crash that sounded like glass breaking. We ran down stairs to find the remains a light bulb in swept into a dust pan with a broom standing next to it , between that experience many things happened in that home such as things flying across the TV stand onto the floor was one creepy experience.Another is when my mother one day was doing laundry and something screamed boo in her ear . What ever was there in the home struck me in the back with a shoving almost like a smack when i was sitting down and watching tv and shortly after My mom had told me at night she would hear footsteps around her bed at night on a daily basis.”

Since then i have had many i cannot explain and others i can!

  16. I have seen ghosts. Only one real good full body apparition and he spoke but I have had other "ghostly" experiences. I also have had  a very few intuition instances  where I also knew something, but I don't consider that paranormal but mystical. That is just me. Just my opinion.
