Question:

Paranormal or not?

Now, I am not one to believe in the paranormal or "ghosts", the thought of it makes me think, but I am not convinced.

I went to bed, usual time and everything.I sleep still and am a light sleeper. My bed makes a particular noise when I move because its a little old and worn. But later in the night, I heard the noise my bed makes when someone gets on it, but the thing is, I was completely still. I hadn't moved at all,yet it made the noise, and was followed by what I thought was a sigh.

Now, I have a logical explanation for what could have been the "sigh". My central air conditioning makes a "whooshing" noise when it goes off and on.

But I am still baffled as to how my bed could have made that noise when I am almost completely certain that I did not move.

I have heard from other visitors to my house that they have had little bizarre incidents of their own. I don't know what to think.

  1. sometimes you can hear springs poppin' or adjusting, is your mattress old?  If bad things are not happening you could just ask, is someone there?  but do you really want to know?

  2. Stuff happens!!! I've been thinking about what inteleyes said..about asking the ghost it's name. I think it would scare me to pieces if I did that and it answered. lol So..be sure you can handle it if it answers.

It could be air in the mattress. ..or a broken spring..or a ghost. Did the sheets look like someone had sat on them? If it happens again..see if you can find an imprint on the sheets or the bedspread/comforter.

  3. I am torn between your logical opinion (which is a good one) and visitors having had little bizarre incidents. Could you elaborate on these incidents that has occurred?

  4. There's an article that you may find interesting that specifically address debunking paranormal activity: http://ghosts-hauntings.suite101.com/art... Perhaps there is something in there that may provide some answers.

  5. No such thing as paranormal.

    There is some rational explanation.

  6. From my experiences with that, it's a spirit....I had many encounters with a good one, and one was a bad spirit, while I sleep. Sometimes I see them take off very fast or even slowly. The one that was coming a lot holds my hand, rubs my back, and hugs....you haven't felt that yet....She gave me one hug to many, so I finally got her name. Oh, and I am serious.

When you notice that, ask for their name, who they are and what it is they want, if they don't take off fast they will and can answer you...just be ready, and if you do see them take off, ask anyways, they may be near by.

  7. Did you FEEL the bed move? What's the weather like? Is it possible that the temperature changed and caused something to settle? Are you sure you didn't move in your sleep, which woke you up, tricking you into thinking you were still awake?

What's the history of the house? Is there a lot of pathos from previous owners? Have people died there? Tortured? Eaten?

  8. There could be many explanations for this including something paranormal. Were you half asleep? Maybe you moved without realizing it.
