When a dead person visits you in your dream when 1. you haven't been thinking of them at all during the day and 2. you haven't been thinking of them at night what does it mean? Sylvia Browne says it really is them, but I think she's a scam. Is it really them or?

  1. The short answer to this question is nobody knows.

Slightly longer: There is no good test for this to determine if it could be a spirit since there are so many other possible competing explanations. Many people believe that people are more open to spirit contact during dreams (where barriers break down) and some evidence shows better ESP performance in relaxed states. Many people also believe that spirits can't exist so dreams can not be contact.

Certainly they weren't on your mind but then dreams can often be symbolic. For example the dream of your teeth falling out can be associated with grinding your teeth at night (which is often due to stress) but you weren't thinking about your teeth during the day or night.

The more important questions in my opinion are

    1. What do you believe? and

    2. What does the dream mean to you?

  2. Dreams are usually just manifestations of either 1. past situations seen in life or 2. situations that are likely to happen. More of the dreams are often symbolic and dont mean the acctual people represented some times. For instance I had a dream about a week ago and it was one of my high school friend of mine randomly meeting each other at college. Turns out I met one of my friends on college campus randomly that next day.

  3. well for one ive never heard of Sylvia Browne, except for here...but from personal experience, yes they do visit while we are asleep and enter our dreams, this seems to be the easiest way they can get our attention....i had a friend visit a few months ago in my dreams and he gave me a message, it turned out to be true, so i know yes it does happen...when people say they experienced something while asleep or half waking up, they are not hallucinations, but instead i find the veil between us and the spirit becomes very thin and spirits normally find this the easiest way to communicate.....

  4. perhaps your unconscious mind was thinking of that person.  It wasn't a bad thing was it?

  5. Any sentence that begins, "Sylvia Browne says..." is automatically disqualified as complete nonsense.  If you care to make a case of your own that's fine, but don't ever use a parasitic, criminal fraud as a source of validation.

  6. I often have dreams about people I hadn't thought of in years.  It's just your mind bringing them up.  It's not actually them.  They're going - they are dead.  Sylvia Browne is a con artist and a liar - I wouldn't trust her if she said the sky was blue.  She preys on people at their most vunerable - when they are sad and grieving.  http://www.stopsylviabrowne.com

I know it's comforting to think that our dead loved ones are out there somewhere, but if they are, they can't contact us.

  7. Anything that involves both money and paranormal claims is a scam.

Anything that involves only paranormal claims is misguided at best.

  8. It is if it looks exactly like them. IOW, I had a dream about my father the other night, where I knew it was him, but hte face and body were totally different. That particular dream wasn't him, it was me working stuff out.

but yeah, it's true. It's how they communicate with those of us not able to experience them otherwise. Your brain enters a stage of sleep that's perfect for connecting to the spirit world. In the beginning of my spiritual development, I had a lot of spirits come to me this way. I don't need to do this anymore, as I can communicate with the dead while I'm awake now.

PS: I hate Sylvia too. I wouldn't trust her as far as I could pick her up and throw her.
