Paras/Infantry Question

Question

Im undecided whether i want to have a crack at normal infantry and join the local, or join the paras, ive got my 1.5 in 2weeks, if i can do the mile and half in 9 mins odd under 9.40 can i decide at a later date???

Why not join the Royal Marines and get the best of both worlds and then you will be respected by everyone.

having served with in the paras then i agree with JAMIE,i have also served with infantry and the royal marines so the point made by GERRY ATRIX also holds water,i would have thought at this stage you would have decided where your future lies and if its a challenge your looking for then either the parachute regiment or the royal marines are perfectly acceptable,on a personal note,i have no regets on being in either but found life as a royal marine had the edge on being a para

You should have decided already which regiment you want to join. If you want a really hard challenge and join the best regiment in the world, join the paras. If you want to join a normal regiment join a normal regiment. But, if you want my advice, join the paras because by the sounds of your run time, you have what it takes, Good luck

You can do both. You can join the infantry, and when you have completed your basic training, you can apply to the C.O. to do the para course and get your wings, then rejoin your infantry regiment.
