Parasailing???

I'm 16 years old and my friend [she's also 16] and my family are going on vacation to LBI for a week on saturday. I was considering trying parasailing [particularly at LBI Parasail], and I was wondering if anyone can tell me about their experience with it. I'm a tad afraid of heights, but it's part of the rush, you know?

So any advice, experiences, etc. Thank you!!

  1. You can ask the boat operator to limit how high you go, and once you get comfortable with it a simple thumbs up or down will let the boat operator increase or decrease your heights as you wish.  It's a blast, the feeling of floating over the water is unlike anything else.  I'm sure you'll love it, have fun.

  2. hey, you have nothing to worry about. Parasailing isnt meant to be a thrill ride or anything like that. It is meant to let you enjoy the scenery, maybe see some cool animals, and of course take pictures. The views are breathtaking. There are different limits on heights but thats all up to you. I recemmend the highest one which is probably around 1000 feet. I did that at Siesta Keys with my brother and our friend.  It was totally worth it. If you think that its like a rollercoaster or something like that, its the complete opposite. Its perfectly safe, all those people are licensed professionals, but I recommend you go up with adleast 1 person so it doesnt get boring. You'll probably be up there for adleast 15-20 minutes depending on location, wind ect. Don't be nervous or afraid, its totally worth the money and the experience. Plus, its over so fast becasue your having so much fun. You might even get a free shirt.
