Newcastle United boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew revealed that he is a big admirer of his juvenile defender Shane Ferguson, and believed that he had a bright future ahead of him at the Sports Direct Arena.
The 20 year old, who flourished in the Newcastle United Academy, signed a three year deal with the club in June 2009, and later extended his contract by five more years in 2011. So far, he has made 12 appearances for the Magpies, but is yet to score his
first goal for the club.
The Englishman admitted that that the young Irish footballer has brought an extra bit of energy to the team, and was confident that he will prove to be a valuable asset for Newcastle in the long run.
"I am a big admirer of him," Pardew told The Newcastle Evening Chronicle.
"Shane gives us a bit of energy - he is positive. You could tell we were lacking energy.”
The Irish footballer made his professional debut for the Magpies in August, 2010 against Accrington Stanley. Later, he featured in his side’s third round Carling Cup tie against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 at Stamford Bridge, and helped his team record a stunning 4-3 win against
the Blues. His Premier League debut came against West Ham United in January 2011.
Even though he won the praise of his manager with some good performances in the closing stages of the 2010/2011 season, he has been on the sidelines for the most of the current season, after picking up a ligament injury. However, the defender made his return
in a Premier League match against Norwich City at Carrow Road in December, which the Magpies lost 4-2.
Newcastle played their last two matches against Bolton Wanderers and Swansea City. Despite the fact that they won both the games by a margin of two goals, Pardew assessed that his side lacked a bit of pace in the midfield.
He remarked, "We were not bright in the mind against Swansea and Bolton - they were two tough games for us."
The Magpies are currently placed fifth in the league table, and have got five more games to play in the season. Pardew mentioned that Ferguson can play a key role in lifting his side to a Champions League place, if he keeps on picking good passes and crosses
to his in-form strikers, Papiss Cisse and Bemba Ba.
“He wants to cross the ball and that is brilliant when you have the strikers we have. He put a few crosses in and won us a few corners. He did his http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 defensively - he has a big future here."
