Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has admitted that a move for former striker Andy Carroll is out of his hands. In the meantime, Aston Villa have reportedly also entered the race to sign the English forward.
Carroll has been the subject of transfer speculation linking him with a move away from Anfield, ever since new Reds boss Brendan Rodgers took charge of the side after serving as Swansea City manager last season.
The striker fell out of favour and is considered as surplus to requirements, as Rodgers hopes to implement at Liverpool, the free-flowing and quick passing football that saw him succeed with Swansea last season.
It was understood that Newcastle were preparing for a loan bid for their former striker, but Liverpool had rejected the offer, stating that they’re still open to offers for a permanent deal. Reports in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749 suggest that Liverpool are looking to cash in
on the striker for £20 million.

Speaking to a newspaper, Pardew said:
"That whole process is a little bit more involved with the chairman and the board at Liverpool. We've got a great team here, a great squad, and if Andy Carroll comes it'll only add to us."
"It's simple, really. Sometimes transfers are done at corporate level. I'm slightly detached from that. It'll be what it'll be."
"It's been said that he's available," Pardew added, "and if we're involved then we'll be involved because of the figures, not anything else, because we know he's good enough. I'm slightly detached from it."
Meanwhile, it has been learnt that Aston Villa have also joined the race to sign Carroll. Villa, who wanted the striker on loan initially, are ready to offer the £20 million that Liverpool want for their player.
The only problem in the transfer is Carroll’s wish to return to Tyneside, with reports claiming that the player has told close friends and family that he will do everything in his power to seal a move back to Newcastle.

“If we could get him it would be great. He's a top player, there's no doubt. It wouldn't be one I would dismiss if we could get him.”
