Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew admits that there might not be a future for Nile Ranger at the club after the striker was recently convicted for assault.
The manager revealed his frustration at the poor and unprofessional attitude of the player, who was recently found guilty of assaulting two police officers.
The young striker was given a 12-month conditional discharge after he admitted to assaulting two police officers during an altercation while on a night out.
The striker was accused of inflicting bodily harm on two other individuals in a club, but was found to be not guilty of doing so after CCTV footage revealed he acted only in self defence.
However, Ranger did physically assault two police officers who tried to apprehend him when he attempted to flee the scene. The striker had engaged in a physical confrontation with both officers, and admitted to the charge in court.
This is not Ranger’s first conviction. He had previously been sentenced to 11 weeks in a young offenders institute back in 2006. He was given a six-month conditional discharge in March, but had later been fined by the English FA for using homophobic remarks
on Twitter.
The player spent last season out on loan with Barnsley and Sheffield Wednesday after falling out of favour at St. James’ Park. He has only managed 58 appearances for the club, and manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew revealed that he might not be able to add to that number.
Pardew said the 21-year old has only himself to blame, and slammed him for being late for training all the time. The manager said:
“I think I’ve been fair with him. This guy is late so often, it is unbelievable. He’s still at this football club and we’re still trying to do something with him.”
“But he will still not get back in the team unless he has a period of six weeks where he isn’t late. I don’t think it is going to happen.”
“It is important, I’m not going to let him train with my first team because he is letting the other players down.”
The manager also revealed that no clubs were interested in taking Ranger up on a loan spell, mostly because of his poor attitude and behaviour.
