The Magpies boss, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew expressed satisfaction over his team’s performance this season and set his sight on a place in the European competitions within the next three years.
The 50 year old said that his side has taken a significant stride forward in the current season and upped his targets for the next year. Currently, his side are placed 6th in the Premier League table and remain

However, the Englishman remained satisfied with the club’s progress, regardless of a European qualification.
“We have had a great season regardless of the European spot, and we want to do that again next year. By hook or by crook, in the next three years it would be nice to get some sort of European football or win a trophy. That's the goal.”
In 2009, the Magpies were relegated from the Premier League under the management of Alan Shearer. But the Tyneside team made its return to the top flight after missing out for just one year and finished the 2010/11 season in the 12th
spot.
Despite being 5 points behind fourth placed Tottenham Hotspur, Pardew ruled out the possibility of finishing in the top four this season. He believed that the gap was too much to fill for his side with just eight more games to play.
“I just think that's too big [a gap] to bridge - five points on Spurs while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 are probably away from us now. It's too much, they are too good a teams to catch with eight games left”
However, if the Magpies are able to finish in the sixth place and Everton fail to make it into the finals of the FA Cup, Pardew’s side will qualify for the Europa League next season.
The boss at Sports Direct Arena fulminated against the rule of FA Cup finalist making it into the European competition and pointed out that the rule overlooks the whole season campaign. Nevertheless, he mentioned that is how things stand
at the moment and suggested that the rule should be scraped in the next year.
