Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is hoping that midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote makes a quick return to the side, and helps them become more dominant in midfield.
The Magpies have been without the midfielder’s physical and imposing presence ever since the Ivorian was ruled out with a thigh muscle injury on the opening day of the season. The midfielder’s absence was visibly felt yesterday as Villa outplayed and outmuscled
Newcastle for the greater part of the game.
Villa had scored in the first half, and deservedly so. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ciaran-Clark-c9247 rose to meet a cross and headed home to give Villa the lead. Newcastle spent the rest of the game trying to grab an equalizer, but had little success up until some individual brilliance
by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 saved the Magpies from a home defeat.
The little Frenchman blazed an explosive shot past Villa goalkeeper http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brad-Guzan-c7954 and helped his side clinch a draw. Many would argue that Newcastle were lucky to have earned a point from the game, as they had been all over the place for the greater part of
the 90 minutes.
Reflecting upon the result, Alan Pardew admitted that his side did not deserve to win the game, and he spoke about how much they missed Tiote’s flair and tenacity in midfield.
Speaking after the draw with Villa, Pardew said: "I think Cheick Tiote will be back. He was sorely missed. That was a Cheick game today.”
"He would have been in and around a few of those Villa boys, and it will be nice to see him back in a black and white shirt for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019.”
"We are expecting him to be in and around it for the Everton game, we really are. We have to work hard on him, but I am hoping, fingers crossed, that we can get him right for that."
The manager has however been given some positive news regarding the recently injured Ryan Taylor. The 28-year old received a knee injury in last week’s game against Atromitos and was expected to be out for about 6 months, leaving the manager short of defensive
options at the back.
However, after advanced scans, Pardew is hopeful that Taylor will return to the team earlier than first anticipated.
