Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew revealed his concern over his team’s unconvincing form in the Premier League and admitted that they are struggling to get results.
The manager slated his side’s poor start to the Premier League, and said that it left him very disappointed, especially since they have failed to replicate last season’s impressive form that saw them finish in 5th place.
The Magpies launched a surprising and expectation defying challenge for a Champions League spot last season, and were expected to build on it this time around.
After suffering their third consecutive defeat in the Premier League last week, Newcastle now sit at 14th spot. The team travelled to St. Mary’s Stadium to face Southampton, and tasted defeat in a 2-0 score line.

However, the manager was also quick to concede that most of his players have not been performing up to the levels that are usually expected from them. Speaking to reporters about his team’s misfortunes, he said:
“There’s no doubt about that. We’re really having to fight. When we conceded the goal, we showed a little bit of spirit but it was too little, too late. We could have had an equaliser at a crucial time with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486. Their goalie made a great save from

The manager then went on to bemoan the absence of influential players http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423 and Fabricio Coloccini, who have both been ruled out on account of injuries. Coloccini had been struggling with fitness for quite some time, and Cabaye recently underwent
surgery.
The French midfielder is expected to be out for several weeks, and is sure to be a big loss for the team. Cabaye has 13 appearances to his name, which only highlights his importance to the squad. Pardew added:
“We’ve got players, but let’s be honest, they aren’t playing as well as they can. We’re missing some key players, but one of them will be back on Wednesday night, so let’s see how we manage.”
