Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 on Monday night.
The Senegalese had been left on the bench for the game, and only came on as a second half substitute. It was understood that Ba had been upset at Pardew’s decision not to start him for the game, but this did not stop him from scoring a goal or two.
Everton had taken the lead before half time but Ba levelled the score minutes into the second half. Everton went ahead again, but Ba relentlessly scored in the dying minutes to earn his side a draw.
After the game, Pardew was full of praise for his striker, and said that it was his anger that inspired him to such a praiseworthy performance. The manager also admitted that luck was on Newcastle’s side, but after their performance, they deserved a bit
of good fortune.
However, Ba’s agent claims that his client was upset at the management’s decision to leave him on the bench, and may be forced to consider his options.
Speaking to the press he said:
"Since returning from the Africa Cup of Nations, Demba doesn't understand the management. If he continues to be a substitute all season, we'll look at other solutions."
His agent did however say that the player is only upset at his lack of playing time.
"He [Ba] would like to start every game, but he respects the choice of the coach, even if he does not always understand or agree."
These were surprising comments from the player’s representatives, and leave the player’s future at the club in doubt. Ba had previously stated that he was happy at Tyneside, but according to his agent, he is now having second thoughts about his stay.
After the game, Ba has said:
“I was very determined because lately I have not been so happy with some things that have been going on. When I got my boots on, I couldn’t wait.”
It is understood that Alan Pardew was very disappointed after hearing what Ba had to say, and is considering fining him for the outburst.
