Newcastle United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 to fight out of his bad form in the league recently, and believed that the player has to play a massive role in the club’s future.
The Senegalese footballer is short of goals lately, and has not scored for the Magpies in his last nine league games. He was substituted by Pardew in the second half during the game against Bolton Wanderers and was seen unhappy at the decision, as he went
inside the dressing room without shaking his manager’s hand.
However, the Magpies boss termed the player’s exasperation as a positive sign, as he believed that the 26 year old will translate his anger into hard work.
"Demba was upset when I brought him off. I was trying to get a reaction from him, if I'm honest. I want him to be angry and fight. He'll come out fighting. I know Demba, and I've got no worries about him." Pardew told the Shield Gazette.
The former West Ham United player came to Newcastle in June last year, after signing a three year contract with the club. He made his debut for the Magpies against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rovers-c40385
a month later. He went on to score 16 goals in his first 20 league appearances this season, which also featured another hat-trick against Stoke City at the Britannia Stadium.
His skill and prowess in the earlier part of the season also caught the attention of other English clubs, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 already reported to be preparing a bid for the player in summer.
However, the Senegalese star, who also scored seven goals for West Ham in thirteen appearances, has failed to score a goal in his eleven previous appearances in all competitions.
Despite the player’s goal drought in the league lately, Pardew remained hopeful that he will be back to scoring ways very soon. He believed that the striker had a bad day against the Trotters on Monday, but backed him to find the back of the net against
Stoke City.
"It wasn't Demba's day, but it might be in two weeks' time," he added.
Newcastle will square off against the Potters on the 21st of April at the Sports Direct Arena. However, Ba is likely to remain the second choice for Pardew, as the Magpies other two strikers Papiss Cisse and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 are in sublime form.
Nevertheless, the Englishman pointed out that Ba remains an indispensable part of his future plans for the club.
"Ba, Shola [Ameobi], Papiss [Cisse] and Hatem [Ben Arfa] all have massive roles to play for us between now and the end of the season."
