Newcastle United’s manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew hopes that his side will be able to finish the season on a strong note and urged his players to emulate their form from earlier in the season.
Perdew’s side are currently sixth in the Premier League table after 29 matches being played and trail fifth placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786, by only three points, having played a game less than the Blues. With the Magpies boss already aware of an improbable top four finish
to the season, he has set his aim of finishing ahead of Chelsea and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809.
Liverpool are currently seventh in the table and are five points behind Newcastle after succumbing to a 2-1 defeat against Wigan Athletic on Saturday.
The Magpies will take on West Bromwich Albion at the Hawthorns on Sunday, and Pardew has pressed his side to go for a strong finish to the season.
Newcastle have got nine more games left to play and Pardew believes his side can still achieve a lot out of the remaining matches.
"We are pretty much focused on the nine games which remain," said Pardew.
"It's a quarter of the season and we need to finish as well as we have done in the first three quarters, because we have been excellent.”
“ The players' attitude and application has been first class and if we can do that for nine more games, we might surprise ourselves." He said.
However, Pardew is wary of the fact that a visit to Hawthorns won’t be an easy one, keeping in view their home record this season. However, the Newcastle boss was optimistic about his team’s prospects and believes they have the skill and ability to go on
and win their upcoming game.
“We are capable of it and we are going to try to do that.” He said.
A win against the Baggies will take Newcastle to 50 points from their 30 matches. The last time the Magpies reached the 50 point mark was way back in 2005/2006 season.
West Brom will go into the match on Sunday, aiming to record their first league double against Newcastle in almost 34 years. Earlier this season, the Baggies won 3-2 during their trip to Sports Direct Arena.
However, Pardew is confident his side can come out with three points from the match. Newcastle have struggled off late, having won just a single match out of their last five league matches. They were beaten 2-1 at the Emirates after a stoppage time winner
from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 and were held at home by Sunderland and Wolverhampton Wanderers.
However, they beat Norwich City 1-0 in their previous Premier League fixture in which Papiss Cisse scored the winner for the Magpies.
