Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has been highly impressed by midfield enforcer Cheick Tiote’s pre-season form, and has said that the player looks ’10 times better’ than he did last season.
The manager believes that the Ivorian international is in the best form of his football career and in much better shape compared to last season, which is saying something if you consider Tiote’s run last season. Pardew has been very impressed by the midfielder’s
pre-season performances and has backed him to have an even better Premier League campaign.
Pardew was more impressed by the 26-year old powerhouse after Newcastle’s goal-less draw against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/ADO-Den-Haag-c38221 on Saturday. He revealed that the player had been struggling with form and fitness this time around last year, which is why his performances impressed
him even more this time.
The Ivory Coast international had an incredible season regardless of his form, and helped his side to secure the fifth place in the Premier League and qualify for the UEFA Europa League along the way. Pardew expects Tiote to have a better season this time
around and said:
"Cheick looks 10 times better than he did last year, and I absolutely mean that. He didn’t come back well last summer, if I'm honest. However, he has summered well this time and is in great physical shape. "
"All my, what I would call big players, are important if we are to progress as a team, and Cheick certainly falls into that category. He is in a good place."
Tiote had been a target for many clubs after his impressive season with the Magpies, but has refused a move away from St. James’ Park, and stated that he is fully focused on Newcastle and winning something with the club. This obviously came to the delight
of manager Alan Pardew, who would’ve been worried by the prospect of losing his star players this summer.
The Englishman was also very satisfied by the other Newcastle players, especially Tim Krul, Fabricio Coloccini and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Jonas-c18967 Gutierrez. Pardew said:
“Fabricio Coloccini is just immense for us. On Saturday, he just looked like himself, which is a top centre-half. So I'm happy with that. Tim Krul looked like Tim, if you know what I mean, as did Jonas Gutierrez who was really sharp as well.”
