Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has blamed the club's poor form on the quality of his current players and a lack of funding from the club in the transfer market.
Finishing off the last campaign on a high, Newcastle were favourites for a top 4 finish this season. The club defied expectations as it managed a 5th place finish in the league, managing wins against the likes of Manchester United and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
The club, through its star players, put in strong performances and consistently got results. Prolific striker duo http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 and Papiss Demba Cisse scored a total of 30 goals between them as they looked to help Newcastle contend for a Champions League finish.
However, the club fell short of finishing at 4th by four points, but still managed to attain European football as it qualified for the Europa League.
This season, a lot of expectations had been placed on Newcastle, and the club has clearly struggled to live up to them. So far, they’ve only managed to win 2 of their league games and suffered 2 defeats. Despite managing to hold on to the likes of star players
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423, the Magpies have not yet made an impact.
Newcastle failed to make headway in this summer’s transfer window, and as a result have not strengthened their squad as compared to other clubs. Manager Alan Pardew has blamed this club’s current form on the quality of players he has, insisting that he needs
better ‘passers’ of the ball if the club is to get results.
The manager was recently handed over an 8-year contract extension by the club’s administration. He spoke about his healthy relationship with owner Mike Ashley, but slammed the lack of funds he has at his disposal. He said:
“I think Mike respects me. But I’ve made it very, very clear that if we’re going to compete with the top clubs we need to pass the ball better, and we need to retain possession. If we’re going to retain possession, we need better players.”
“If we’re going to get better players, not only have we got to produce our own, we’re going to have to search high and low to get the best.”
