Newcastle United manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew has revealed that he plans to make up for the lack of transfer activity in the summer by signing players in the winter transfer window in an attempt to strengthen the squad and help the club move up on the league
table.
The club has slipped down the league table and dropped to 15th spot. The Magpies are only 2 points adrift of the relegation zone, and are in dire need of results.
With only 1 win in their last 6 games, Newcastle have gone from top 4 contenders to relegation battlers. The club has also been unlucky when it comes to fit and available squad players. Injuries and suspensions have stripped the team of many key players,
and has seriously hindered their progress this season.
Looking to build on last season’s 5th place finish was always going to be a hard task if you take into consideration how the other mid-table teams had been doing. The likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019, West Brom, Swansea City and West Ham have all been in good
form, and have signed a number of players to help them finish in the top half of the Premier League.
Newcastle were therefore always going to face a tough time. The club also failed to sign any major senior players in the summer, and are now facing a shortage of squad members. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 were the latest players to be sidelined, and
leave Alan Pardew seriously short-staffed in midfield.
Having only signed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Vurnon-Anita-c36486 in the summer window, Pardew is now targeting at least three signings, with Marseille’s Loic Remy top of his list. The manager said:
“We got that wrong.  Mike Ashley, Derek and I all agree we should have bought one more senior player here. For whatever reason, it did not happen. The owner has great faith in my ability and I have to reward that with what I think when we make an error and
say we have made a mistake.”
“He accepts that and as a team we have to learn from it. We needed another player in the summer but we did not get him, but it’s not anyone’s fault. It is a collective thing and we have to take that all on the chin.”
