Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew insists that Demba Ba is quite happy and settled at Tyneside. The Toon boss also admitted to being interested in Blackburn’s Junior Hoilett.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 and Galatasaray also recently being on the list.
The Senegalese striker has a buy-out clause in his contract which states that he can leave the club anytime until July, with a proportion of any transfer fee agreed going to the player. This development has raised uncertainty over the player’s future.
Ba arrived at Tyneside last season on a free transfer from West Ham United, following their relegation in the 2010/2011 season. The French-born Senegalese striker made an immediate impact and bagged 16 Premier League goals in 34 appearances for the Magpies.
Even though Ba’s form diminished towards the end of the season, he was still critical to Newcastle’s campaign, and manager http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew is aware of his importance to the squad.
The striker is back in training with his teammates for Newcastle’s pre-season campaign, and this is seen as an encouraging sign by Pardew.
"I've not seen any sign from Demba since he came back that suggests he wants to find another club. I don't sense that at all," said Pardew speaking to an English newspaper.
"I genuinely don't see a situation where he wants to move on. He has not stressed to me he wants to move to pastures new.”
"He has said to me he wants some reassurance from me. He wants a more striking role this season and I think he will."
Although Pardew will be keen to hold on to all his star players, he will also look towards bringing in new names to the side. French midfielder Romain Amalfitano has already been purchased as Pardew’s first signing of the summer, with ex-Coventry midfielder
Gael Bigirimana being the second player signed by the team.
Newcastle have been strongly linked with Lille’s French international full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mathieu-Debuchy-c24682, with the player’s arrival looking imminent this month. Newcastle have a very formidable squad this time around, and some new signings will truly strengthen it.
Pardew was rumoured to be interested in Blackburn Rover’s winger http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Junior-c20060 Hoilett. The manager revealed his interest in the Canadian by admitting that he was monitoring the player’s situation.
"Wherever he ends up, we're keeping a close eye on that because he's a good player."
