Newcastle came back from behind to grab a draw against Aston Villa in Sunday’s game at the Sports Direct Arena courtesy of a http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hatem-Ben-Arfa-c15884 screamer.
Villa and Newcastle were locked in a stale mate up until http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ciaran-Clark-c9247 headed home a cross in the first half of the game and gave his side a deserved lead. Villa looked the better of the two teams for the greater part of the game, and had started showing
signs of progress and improvement following their poor start to the Premier League season.
Newcastle on the other hand, looked like a shadow of the team that had defied expectations and finished at fifth place last season. The first half was dominated by Villa and they kept goalkeeper Tim Krul busy all throughout the first 45 minutes.
The second half saw Newcastle gaining momentum and finding their feet. The Magpies responded through an explosive goal by Ben Arfa. The French midfielder cut in from the left side and took a shot on his weaker right foot which blazed right past Villa goalkeeper

Both teams were now searching for the winner, and could’ve won it in the end. The ending minutes of the game saw Newcastle coming close through a free kick by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Yohan-Cabaye-c37423, only to be denied by Guzan again.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew had no excuses and admitted that his side did not deserve to win the game. The manager was satisfied with the result, but disappointed by his team’s performance.
He gave credit to Villa for an impressive away performance and said:
“I can’t say we deserved to win and you could argue Villa did. We were a bit funny, lacked discipline and our set-plays were awful.”
“It was a nightmare from a coaching point of view. It wasn’t a great day for us on the sideline. It was frustrating and we were having to change the shape and formation.”
“I don’t think the officials helped us – I thought they were poor for us in particular. But fair play to Villa, I take my hat off to them because they worked so hard and can be proud of their performance”.
