The Newcastle United manager admits that his team did not do well against Arsenal and now they are out of the running for a UEFA Champions League place in the English Premier League table and thus they should concentrate on
grabbing a Europa League spot....

Pardew’s men suffered a last minute defeat to Arsenal when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thomas-Vermaelen-c35002 scored right at the death in the final minute of the match to give Gunners a desperately needed win over Newcastle United. Pardew’s men have done spectacularly
well to match the likes of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 throughout the season as they have continuously battled for a fourth place spot in the English Premier League.
With Manchester United and Manchester City resting assured in the top two places of the league table, the remaining places are now up for grabs between Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea. Liverpool and Newcastle United find themselves
off the pace for now and considering their latest results, it will be difficult for them to match up with the rest of the pack with only 10 games remaining in the league season.
Pardew said, “The draw wouldn’t have made any difference to us. We needed to win to stay in there and we ain’t going to go there. We must go for the Europa League now. We have a lot to play for still. At that point [before Vermaelen’s
goal] we were not trying to win it, if I’m honest. Sometimes when a team is pushing on high there is the greatest opportunity. We had a few problems towards the end of the game. We lost Chieck [Tiote] to cramp and Danny Simpson had an injury but we had no
subs left. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Danny-c10193 just couldn’t get back to stop the goal.”
He added, “In the second half we couldn’t have done more to stop a team that is in good form. For commitment and effort, you couldn’t fault us tonight.” Newcastle United will now focus their efforts on finishing fifth in the league
table and in doing so gain a place in next season’s Europa League to bring some European football to Saint James’ Park.
