Newcastle United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew was all praise for his side even after their defeat against Manchester City on Sunday, and called upon them to continue their phenomenal performances in the next season.
The Magpies, who were relegated from the Premier League at the end of the 2008/2009 season, have since launched a strong comeback in the Top Division.
They finished the league table on 12th upon their return in 2010, and are currently vying for a top four finish in the table, with just one more game to play. At the moment, they have 65 points from their 37 games, and will take on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c13019 at
Goodison Park in their final game of the season.
However, the 50-year old Englishman wants his side to finish amongst the top teams in the table on regular basis, in order to nullify the opinion that their season’s achievements are just one-off.
While talking to reporters, he said: “The fabric of this club, the history, the tradition it has, it should be at the top of the Premier League every year.”
The Magpies have enjoyed stupendous success in the past in English football, as they have won the league title on 4 occasions and also got 6 FA Cup accolades to their name. However, their last major title win came way back in 1955, when they hoisted the
FA Cup.
Nevertheless, Pardew lauded his side for their remarkable effort this season, which has seen them cross the 50 points mark in the league for the first time since the 2003/2004 season. He also expressed his resolve to make the most out of his talented squad
in the next season as well.
He continued, “That's the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684 in hand for me now, to make sure these players come back and put in the same dedication they have this year because they have earned big reputations now and now they need to fulfil them.”
The Englishman also raved about the role that the fans have played in the club’s successes and felt they would have been lying at the seventh or eighth place in the league, had it not been for their boisterous support and encouragement.
“Our fans have been absolutely brilliant, make no mistake…We need them back next year and we need to give them something to come back for.”
The Magpies, who have already qualified for the Europa League next season, can further boost their achievements in the ongoing season by finishing the table in the top-four. However, they will need to win their final game against the Toffees, and hope that
their top-four rivals drop points in their respective games.
