http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 with a move away from the Magpies and hopes to hold on to his Senegalese striker as Newcastle United look to compete in all competitions next season.
Demba Ba had a flying start with Newcastle as he joined them from the relegated West Ham United on a free transfer last season. His form saw him score 16 goals for the Magpies, and he was voted the best signing of the 2011/2012 Premier League season by managers
in March 2012.
Ba’s importance for Newcastle was felt when he left for the African Cup of Nations in January this year. The Magpies suffered a dip in form, but Ba returned earlier than expected and scored on his returning game.
The striker's international teammate Papiss Demba Cisse joined him at the club in January, and his arrival saw Ba fade away. Cisse was deployed in the central forward role, with Ba forced out wide. This resulted in the striker experiencing a dip in form
and led to constant speculation linking him with a move away from the Sports Direct Arena.
Demba Ba has recently been linked with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809, and has also stated his desire to play for Paris Saint-Germain, a club he grew up supporting as a child.
The Senegalese striker has a buy-out clause in his contract which can be activated till the end of July. Turkish club Galatasaray are also said to be interested in him.
Alan Pardew has however dismissed all sorts of rumours and stated that the striker is very much a part of Newcastle’s plans for next season.
Pardew told Sky Sports: "I want Demba to stay.”
"He's a Newcastle player and all I'm focusing on is making sure he's a Newcastle player next season."
"Expectations are going to be greater next season, and I accept that.”
"We competed with the top teams all last season and we have to try to achieve the same again next year.”
"But the European campaign will put pressure on us, big time."
The Magpies are competing on four fronts next season, with the Europa League and a top four finish in the Premier League a major priority once the new season kicks off.
