Newcastle United manager, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alan-c4244 Pardew believes that the Magpies in-form striker, Papiss Cisse is currently high on confidence, and cautioned him that things will not always remain the same.
The Senegalese International has arguably been the signing of the season, as he has played a major role in the Magpies upsurge in the Premier League. Since his 10 million pounds transfer in January, the 26-year old has fired 13 goals for his side in just
12 appearances. He scored a brace against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786 on Wednesday at the Stamford Bridge, which included a sensational 30-yards strike from the left wing, which has already been labelled by many as the best goal of the season.
The Englishman hailed the striker’s mercurial performance against the Blues, and attributed his incredible second goal to his overwhelming confidence. However, Pardew was wary of the fact that he will find it difficult to maintain his phenomenal form in
the long run.
The 50-year old told the reporters, “It's early days - this is only half a season. His confidence is very, very high - at some point, it will be low, and that's when maybe me and my staff need to kick in.”
Cisse’s double against the Blues helped the Magpies maintain their fifth spot in the league table and opened up a four points lead over the Londoners. Pardew raved about the impact that the Senegalese player had made since arriving at the Sports Direct Arena
in January, and underscored his exemplary work ethic in the training grounds.
The Magpies boss was also in awe for Cisse’s compatriot, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Demba-Ba-c10812 who is currently the highest goal scorer for the Toon this season with 16 scalps. Pardew changed the position of the latter since the arrival of Cisse, who now plays on the left up-front,
with Cisse assuming the role of the main striker. Since then, goals have dried out for Ba, who has now failed to score in his last 12 league games.
“We also have a great spirit and of course Demba [Ba], who has had to suffer, really, after Papiss' arrival in terms of working for the team, has helped him settle in and made it a lot easier for Papiss.” He added.
Talking about Cisse’s second goal against Chelsea, Pardew admitted that he was amazed to see him score from such a difficult position and linked it to his high confidence.
“He took a chance because he knew it was a chance for him, as slim as it might have been for the rest of us.”
