  1. You could always buy a plain leather halter and purchase conchos or silver plates to put on it. A do it yourself show halter! Worked for me, and I love it!

  2. You should use a show halter...try e bay.

  3. you can, however I wouldn't. You are supposed to have a show halter, it would be like you showing in sweatpants and a t-shirt. How much can you afford I know of one website and magazine where there are show halters (with plenty of silver and matchin lead) for between $59.99-$64.99.

I mean I understand not wanting to spend 200-300 or even more for a show halter but this gives you options. Hoped I helped

  4. I wouldn't use that, like other people said try ebay or tacktrader.com those are really good. If you don't want to get that get a cheap plain leather halter. It'll look a lot better, judges aren't fond of nylon halters

  5. You can use a nice clean plain leather halter. If you are showing in a tiny county fair you can probably get away with a nylon halter that's clean and in good condition. You might try to barrow a nice halter from a friend. (just don't use it to tie your horse up with).

  6. i wouldn't use it. it is kinda like saying you aren't serious about showing. if you can't afford a real show halter just get a plain leather halter with a plain leather lead rope with chain. it isn't perfect, but it gets the point across that you are at least trying.

  7. I wouldn't recomened it.

all you need is a plain halter. they don't cost to much.
