What do you think of this brand? I am using it for my 6 month old, and she seems to be doing fine on it, but I sometimes feel guilty that I am not giving her a good enough formula. What do you guys think of this brand?

  1. Actually you're giving her one of the best formulas out there. Parent's Choice is just a generic version of the most popular name brand formulas, which has made it quite popular. My favorite is the organic because it's the only organic formula on the market that has dha and ara, which are nutrients that help brain development (like what's found in fish and coincidently enough also found in breast milk). I started out on the regular milk based version. I moved to it from Enfamil Lipil because I couldn't tell the difference between the two (and my son couldn't, either).

The source below is a comparison of the nutrients found in Parent's Choice milk-based versus Enfamil's. If the ingredients are the same and the nutrition is the same... how are the formulas not the same, and most importantly, how is one so much worse than the other?

  2. I actually compared the ingredients to Similac on the backs of the can.  They were exactly the same..

I offer to supply Parents Choice to my daycare babies.  I have only had one baby whos parent insisted she provide Similac ....hey its her money..

If your baby is doing fine on the formula then dont feel guilty....This will not be the last time your child doesnt get the name brand item...LOL

Edit- Don't let the rude comments get to you....Some people come on here just because they can't get anyone to listen to thier negative, rude comments in person.

  3. It is the exact same formula as Similac and Enfamil. You get it cheaper because you dont have to pay for the advertising and shelf space at the grocery store. It has the same nutrients in it as any other formula. The FDA regulates it and makes sure it meets certain criteria,

  4. Its fine, I wish my son would use it, I do use the Parents Choice baby food and snacks.

  5. I had 3 kids.  There was 9 years between my oldest and youngest.  The oldest took Enfamil because when he was born Parent's choice wasn't available.  When I had my youngest, my doctor recommended Parent's choice. He said it was just as good as the name brands.

I also have a granddaughter who is 7 now and she is well and healthy today.  I hear of a lot of Mom's using it today with good results.

  6. my friend and i are both RNs; we were using enfamil lipil and found that sam's brand with dha and ara is nutritionally the same as the enfamil and a LOT cheaper! we both individually compared the ingredients and i also asked baby's doc and he said no prob; so we both switched; both of our babes are thriving and she didn't even notice the switch, no tummy probs , nothing and her son didn't either.....there is no need for the brand name...

AND FOR FUTURE REFERENCE--just skip WI MOM's responses

  7. Store brand formula is NOT the exact same formula as Enfamil or Similac.  Sure, it's all regulated by the FDA (everything we consume is), but the formula is different.  My doctor says the name brands are the best.  The cost for name brand is not so much that I would consider cheaping out on my son's nutrition.

P.S.  The ingredients are the same, but the formula is different.  There's a reason that the store brands are cheaper!

  8. You should feel guilty for feeding your child that garbage.

Breast milk is the best thing you can provide for your child but instead you choose to feed her generic artificial formula from WalMart?

    Nice.

  9. It is just as good as the other brands.  My oldest son would drink it and i asked the pediatrician about it and she said all formulas have to meet standards and that parents choice is a perfectly fine choice.

  10. I dont think anything is wrong with it, I think it is just as good as the other stuff.  I actually use all of the parent choice products.

  11. i all ways spent the money to buy the good stuff, enfamil.

but you don't say what brand you are using, i'm not a mind reader.

all the other brands look nasty, i'm sorry milk is supposed to be white not brown. oh and they say, it's because of the vitamins. well i drink milk every day and it doesn't look like that and it has vitamins.
