this is the second question because the first question i asked i didnt word it right and it made me look bad so im asking this in a different way

ok so dont get me wrong i love my parents to death and alll of that but sometimes they put in rules for no reason and i feel the those rules are not fair but as soon as i want to start negoatiating they say no more i dont want to talk about this go to your room

1. i am not allowed to play video games during the week(i have never had this privileage but i should i mean i am a straight a studentt through all my middle schoool taking all honors classes and some high school courses i do all my chores and im respectful)my parents just dont believe in letting me play during the week)

2. ok so i have a bedtime during the week which is 10 clock ok i understand that so i can get sleep during the week to wake up early to go to school but on the weekends the only time i have off they give me a bedtime so im trying to tell them during the week ill use your bedtime but on the weekend just let me go to bed at whatever time i want i mean im not saying i want to go to sleep att 6am but i dont want to go to sleep at 10 neither(i personally dont think this is unreasonable or unfair)

so if you could guys could like brainstorm some ideas that i could use to work out with my parent would be GREATLY GREATLY GREATLY apprecitaed plz and thank you

  1. 10 is a little early for bedtime even for a 14 year old. I could see midnight, and maybe 1 AM on Friday and Saturday. h**l, my mom let me stay up to watch Saturday Night Live when I was 5.

  2. i think what you have to do is fine you will thank them when you get older

  3. Hate to break it to you kid, but your parents seem to be making wise decisions, and however much you hate them, they are in your best interests.  I would be doing the same thing with my kids.

  4. I agree with your parent's bedtime.  There have been many articles about teens needing almost as much sleep as babies because their bodies are changing to fast.

As for video games, I think everyone needs a little down time.  So if your homework is done, your grades don't suffer, and you do your chores.  Then maybe a l/2 or so during the week.  But only if you keep to that time because video games are addictive.

  5. Fabian My Boy (love your name BTW, it's one of my FAVS) Your Mom and Dad want what is BEST for you...My 14 year old Freshman Son has to be in Bed by 9;30 on school nights so he can get up for Football Practice @ 6 a.m. daily...He holds a 3.896 GPA and is in ALL Honors Classes and he is Respectful most of the time, OK SOME of the Time...lol...Fabian you do sound like a son Anyone would be proud to have and I agree with you, your Parents Could Lighten-Up a Little...maybe allow a Midnite Curfew on Weekends like I do my Son...BUT NOT just whenever YOU feel like it...that's NOT reasonable...as far as the Video Games Go I pretty much agree with your Parents...I only allow Erick 3 hours of Video Game Play a week...so you're on your own there Kiddo...Sorry~~Aloha My Boy~~Michelle~~

  6. 1.  Did you ever think that you are a straight A student BECAUSE your parents don't let you waste your time during the week?   My son didn't even HAVE a video game system until he was 16 -- at that point, he had had straight A's for six years, so we figured he was probably on top of things :-)

    2.  Bedtime at 10 is reasonable for a 14 year old, but on weekends, it's a little much.  I don't know about your church responsibilities or sports activities on the weekends, but maybe you could start out small -- say, "How about on Friday night, I can stay up until midnight?"  Just go for one night right now, and let them see how that goes -- even if it just gets you 11 pm as a compromise, you're better off!
