Question:

Parent-taught driving program?

In Texas, if you are doing the parent-taught driving program for a permit instead of going to an actual driving school, do you have to take an actual driving test with a police officer for a license? I've heard that your parent can exempt you from it, but I'm not sure..

Help please?

Thanks!

  1. I sure hope you do. I trust Mom and Dads teaching about as far as I can throw my pickup.

  2. No way. Even if you pay for a professional to train you, you still are required to take the same driving test as everyone else.

  3. Yes in Texas you will by law have to take the driving test just like everyone else.
