Don't u people relize that this is a job? Just cuz we stay at home all day does not mean that caring for children is not work. How would u like 2 go to work & not get paid? How would u like your employer to say sorry, I don't have enough money to pay you this week, you'll have to wait 3 wks to get your check? We have bills to pay too. Don't u relize hopping from daycare to daycare (to not have to pay) is bad for your children? Children need stability & routine. Sorry, I have 2 vent, I'm sure u can tell the reason why. Parents hate paying up front, but soon that's what all daycare providers are going to have u do.

  1. Make it a monthly bill. It needs to be paid on the first and if it's not paid by the 5th , please don't bring your children back. Five days isn't a lot of time to find a new daycare, so I'm sure they'll come up with the $.

  2. You can always send the account to collections.  I'm sorry you have to go through this.  I worked for a day care where the parents paid a week or two ahead depending on when they got paid.

  3. Charge in advance. That's what schools do for tuition. If they don't pay, they can no longer come. Simple. Best of luck.

  4. I think you need to have parents pay the week before. If they don't pay you then don't let them leave their kids. It's not like you'll lose business. The ones that have a problem paying up-front are the same ones that will have a problem paying on time. You work your *ss off and you shouldn't have to do it for free!!

  5. I'm sorry you are having trouble with parents making payments. I guess really the only thing you can do is just refuse to watch the child if they don't pay, or you can go to small claims court. Thats really sad for the children...

  6. I have the same effing problem. -_-

  7. Definitely charge in advance.   My son had a daycare provider who had a BIG problem with parents not paying on time.   I was supposedly the only parent who did.   My son was 8 and then 9 years old at the time and he described her several times as the "best babysitter I ever had".   Those words are priceless.  I wondered how he was doing over there but those words said it all.   I wonder if the other parents who have to stop bringing their kids to daycare because they didn't pay ever wonder about how their kid is doing in daycare.   They bounce from daycare to daycare because they can't keep up with payments.   Not only is it wrong for the daycare provider but do they ever think about how it affects their own kid.
