im living with my mother right now because i cant afford to live on my own,(thats a different issue) I get told all the tim that i am not a good enough mother to my kids by my mom. Yes i am not perfect but who is. I love my kids. I dont think i deserve to be constantly told this. My question is does she have the right to tell me this or not. I want to raise my kids my way not hers is that wrong?

  1. It's wrong if you're not putting the needs of the kids before your own needs.  Mothers are usually not that critical of their daughters.  If she's constantly telling you that you are a bad mom, then you probably are.  Try taking parenting classes.

  2. The next time she says something like that just say "well if YOU did a better job at raising ME, then maybe I would know how to do it RIGHT"  Or you can say "Sorry mom, I'm not as perfect as you were"

  3. I dont think that its wrong if she is helping you out on raising them after all you do stay with her, but if she giving you wrong advice then thats different. Try sitting her down and letting her know how  you feel. And your right about nobody is perfect but becoming better cant help either afterall she did raise you!

  4. no one has a right to say this to any parent. unfortunately, you are living in her house. which means that although you have every right to ask her to stop talking about your parenting skills, that doesnt mean shes going to stop. you either deal with it or move out. (trust me, i know what youre going through. my husband and i are currently living with his parents. its not fun.)

  5. SHe has all the right to tell you that you are not doing it correctly if she is helping you and supporting you.  Maybe you should sit down with her and have a honest conversation about what she thinks you are doing wrong and what can improve your relationship

  6. just ignore her until you get on your feet and get the f*** out.  Then let her talk that mess.
