How much do you allot your kids for school clothes? I am interested in knowing because my dad is only allotting me 1,200 for school clothes all year long. I mean summer clothes and such also. So what are some tricks to get him to let me have more?

Thank you,

  1. ask for the credit card..lol..i got like 3 of them all ready and all those store credit cards

  2. My mom and dad just let me buy whatever I want as long as I'm not buying $200-300 per pair of jeans or something.

  3. $100-200.

    Spoiled brat.

    Get a job.

  4. whoa is me , daddy's poor little rich girl, i bet you grow up to marry an ugly guy with lots of money and never have to work. oh, and you drive your kids in your big surburban back and forth to the soccer field!!!!

  5. thats a lot already.

But if you must have more, ask for money for christmas and birthday.

Or your could babysit/get a job.

  6. hey,

i think 1200 is a great amount for you to work with for the years clothes.

rather than trying to get more cashola, it's easier to make your money go farther by shopping at outlets and finding good deals.

also, if you really want more money for clothes, try casually slipping things into the cart, the cashier will scan them, then they are in the bag and not calculated in the spending allowance. if your dad asks where x item came from, you can just say "oh right, i needed x and it was at a good price. i didn't want to nag you about it cuz you were on the phone/busy....

    :)

  7. well i wold buy things early on but i would think that you get quite alot and that is good. i buy as needed also after they start going we have boys an they growso fast and up tall.

  8. My kids had $450 for school clothes and $350 for summer clothes each. They also get clothes at Christmas time or it they outgrow them.

  9. You're a greedy little booger. I only got 200. which is actually pretty good.

get a job and maybe you'll learn the value of a dollar.

  10. wow. spoiled brat

  11. You are spoiled, most parents can't afford that much for school clothes at all.  Average for those I know is about $500 max for school clothes.  There is no reason for you to be spending more than the $1,200 on school clothes, if you want more money earn the money.

  12. wow that's a lot

have a yard sale for ur old clothes

babysit, wash cars, walk dogs, do extra chores etc.

    All the Best!!

  13. If school uniforms take at least 500-600, then why do you need the other 600-700 that is left over, $1200 is alot, so yes you are being greedy. Get a friggin job, learn the value of the dollar and stop sponging off your dad. OR at least begrateful for the huge amount you are already getting instead of being greedy and trying to get more.

  14. I have no set amount that i spend , if they need it they get it. They don't get  the money though i take them shopping.

I tend to spend alot more on my 11yr old daughter though because she has "problems" she's small for her age so school sweatshirts had to be made as a special order as they don't make them in her size for her school (she's almost 12 but needed age 7/8) also she has foot problems so footwear is more expensive.........Being short for her age means clothes are sometimes very babyish for her so we shop in places that sell fashionable clothes in smaller sizes.(not sleezy stuff )

there are no "tricks" to get your dad to spend more If he thinks you need more you'll get it...need and want are diferent things

  15. Ya well I get 960

    It makes me soo mad.

It's supposed to teach me responsibilty, but then again I get another 960 a year for allowence.

Just show him the price of an average shirt, pair of jeans, etc. and that its really hard to have a decent wardrobe with that amount...

Also look like your making an effort to shop within that budget.

  16. Why is everyone being so mean saying she's spoiled and to get a job? Even if you are going to say that, say it nicely.

Now break this down people!!! $600 on uniforms for school. That means only $600 for other clothes over 12 months. Break it up and you've got $50 a month for clothing besides uniforms...it really isn't all that much.

I don't get a lump sum at the beginning of the year, but my mom said she thinks it's around $1,000 on clothing and $300 on shoes for the whole year for me, and a little less than that for my older brother. This is considering that we're in public school and don't have uniforms. I go shopping usually 5-6 major times during the school year. [Major as in the mall with friends or my mom getting more than a few clothes] And I have a set number for back-to-school shopping in August, $300.

If you reason it all out...

    She's not spoiled.

    She has a reasonable amount.

I don't think you need more.

But if you really do want more, have your MOM come shopping with you, and don't mention the price of anything, and let her see the clothes on you. Say things like "Oh I could wear this a lot" or "This goes with everything" or "This is perfect for school/that dance/dinners".

It works for me all the time =]

Or I take my dad with me and get an amount then go off by myself  then come back and say, "Daddy, I only need $80 more and I'm done" then I give him this smile, and look up at him...I just do my thing.

    GOOD LUCK

  17. that's sounds like a lot of friggin money why don't you try not being spoiled and either don't buy the first expensive thing you see or make your own money.

    Or you can:

    >ask for clothes as presents during holidays.

    >maybe have him go shopping with you?

I don't know, I'm not  a lame spoiled girl ;) wanna gimme best answer

  18. I'm jealous. I pay for all my clothes with my money from my c**p job.

  19. I got 100 bucks

and no I did not forget the zero

    16 years old.

  20. Wow thats more than enough!

  21. My mom gives me 500 for the official August school clothes shopping trip.

Other than that, I get none all year long and have to make my own money to buy clothes.

    You're spoiled. Get a job.

  22. 1200 what?

if thats in dollars or anything of greater value, you are seriously spoiled.

i dont know how much i spend, but you have to be tripling it.

get a job, its as simple as that.
