Parents, Principals and Teachers do you have any objections to using PETA publications in the classroom?

I in no way want to impose my beliefs onto my students. I have found some rather interesting informational resources about animals and humans on the PETA website. I know that some parents may feel that using material published by such an organization may seem preachy since PETA is known for it's extreme position on animal rights. All materials are kid friendly and are not graphic in nature. As a parent or pricipal would you have a problem with your kids reading/viewing this material?

  1. Even though my son is a vegetarian by choice and is "into" conserving nature and protecting animals, I would have a problem with PETA materials being distributed in the classroom simply because of their fanatical/ extreme behavior on so many issues.  My hesitation comes from watching my son research things that he's interested in...I know for a fact he'd research to find out where the materials came from, and while PETA does do some good things, they also do things that I don't want my 10yo finding quite yet.

    JMHO...

  2. I would put it in the rack next to the jihad materials.  Both express radical views of an otherwise positive idea.

  3. Are you kidding me?  PETA is an extremist group that should never have a place in the classroom.  The have funded terrorists in the past and have scarred many many young children with their sick and twisted ways.

This is an example of how PETA markets to kids, they have been caught waiting outside of schools and handing these comics out to kids as young as 5 years old.

Is this really the type of people we want influencing our kids?
