And teens, does it scare you that you're growing up?

Realising I'm going into my last year of school ever (Year 13) scared me - looking back, I've been in school for the past twelve years of my life and by next May, it's all over! It's strange to think how I've grown up - I've been with my boyfriend since we were two months off being fifteen and have never broken up, partly discovered myself, have an idea of where my life is going.....it's scary in a way, too see how far I've come. I know my mother doesn't like the thought I'm growing up and becomes aggressive, trying to make me think I'm not but I'm eighteen next year for Pete's sake! My dad takes much more of a relaxed approach, it is hard to see me grow up but there's nothing he can do to stop it.

Your view? :)

  1. No. Of course I worry about them. But I've found that not wanting them to grow up makes you overprotective and annoying. Just live and let live.

  2. life is hard for everybody my kids scare me to death but all I can do is teach them right from wrong. Most kids don't realise there parents are there too help  until they are gone.

  3. As a parent myself I feel that to watch your child grow and reach adulthood is awesome, the in between is tough. We want only what is best for our children and that will always raise conflict in every household. Be patient with your mother, she is with you.

  4. My Heart literally HURTS at times watching my beautiful children grow up!  You and my daughter Danielle are about the same age...she is a Senior (last year 12th grade) in High School...and I think about how quickly the years have flown...at times I can't stand it...I know she will be off to College next year and living on her own...making all of her own decisions...My other two...One is 13 (in two weeks) in the 8th grade and my son is 14 and a Freshman (9th, first year in High-School) and before I know it they will be Graduating and moving on...It makes me CRY!~~It is ALL TOO SOON~~

  5. It scares me a little becuse in school you have everything planned for you like what classes you take and thngs like that and mom and dad are payin for your car and you have a house and free food

i am scared about the future when i have to know what i want to do and i have to get a good job(i am 14 btw) and i have to pay for a house or apartment. and i am going to cry the day school is over for good

  6. Well, I'm 15 and going into Year 10 tomorrow, and it does seem strange. Year 10 is when you drop all the subjects you don't like, when you have your own schedule, when you have coursework and you're preparing for GCSE. It has a much more adult approach to study and to me, it seems that this is really the end of kiddy years. :) I'm slighlty sad, but I know that it's going to be great. The strange thing is, though, that it doesn't seem as if it's so long since I went into primary for the first time. It's as if it was yesterday! Time flies...

  7. I'm scared of growing up, yes.
