I am taking care of my two year old godson and I was scolded for attempting to kiss an "owwie". He made a frowny face at me and said, "NO KISS ON OWWIE!"

  1. Maybe his parents don't kiss owies?

For us there is no difference, even if my daughter gets hurt a little bit she goes "kiss it"

  2. There is no difference. It depends what the parents say to him. Maybe he just did not want a kiss.

  3. I think he is the only one that knows. And I'm sure it changes daily.

    Just ask him.

  4. Maybe he didn't want you to hurt it.  Depending on the severity of the owie, sometimes we kiss bumps and bruises, and sometimes we don't.  Ask him next time "would a kiss make it better?"  or "oooh, what can I do to make you feel better?"  Different families, different protocols :)

  5. I had to laugh at this.. we taught our son to kiss his boo boo or owwies.  You might have to ask the parents that, maybe they don't believe in doing it because it can cause infection, I just found that out after kissing my sons for 2 years.

  6. Who did the scolding?

A boo boo and an owwie are one and the same.  Maybe he doesn't know what a boo boo is.  So he called it an owwie.  Again no big deal.  People use different words for things, especially little tots.

Have you ever had someone kiss, touch or rub something that hurts?  It makes it hurt worse.  Always ask before you kiss something that hurts.  "Do you want me to kiss it?"

  7. i would asume a boo boo is like a scrape or cut. and an owwie is a bruise or bump. lol, i may be wrong.... but thats what i would asume!

  8. They are the same thing some families just use different terms.
