  1. The child does not get a vote, if that is your question.  This is because the child is a child.  Adults get to decide.

There are lots of laws that make contact with children illegal even if the child says the contact is wanted.  Google "statutory rape."

  2. Of course.  The parent has a legal and moral duty to protect the child.  The child cannot be the one to override the parent's judgment in such serious matters.

A big question is whether a restraining order is appropriate or whether that would be effective and in the best interest of the child.

Consult your attorney before you take action.

  3. Esther S and Loves The have great points.

Children don't have the life experience and maturity it takes to make good choices in many situations.  Especially, when the child is in love.  Love is such a strong emotion.

Parents are trying to keep their child out of trouble.  They aren't trying to ruin your life, they're trying to keep you from ruining it.  A restraining order is a tough step, so they must have reasons.  I don't see the judge giving them one for no reason.

It's a tough situation when you're in strong disagreement with your parents.  You many not fully understand this until you have children of your own.  Then, watch out.  You'll know exactly why your folks did what they did.  Until then, try to look at things from your parents' point of view, if you can.  It will help you to have a more mature perspective on the situation, whatever it is.
