I am not a teenager, I am a young adult, in college with a toddler of my own I don't drive and I am not certified in any child care classes.

But I would like to babysit for income,

When I watch these children, I will have my child with me.

How much is a reasonable rate for someone like me?

How much would you pay me to babysit your child?

I was thinking $7 an hour

  1. I think $7 sounds reasonable. I know alot of babysitters who charge $10-$15 an hour depending on how many kids there are. Its good that you have a toddler of your own since that is the best experience you can have but it might be worth while to look into child safety classes. You can usually find them for free or fairly cheap at your local YMCA. Not driving may be an issue too. Many parents may feel uneasy if there is ever an emergency and you need to drive somewhere.

  2. 7 is about as much as most working moms make or at the very least 1/2 of what almost any working mom makes, if you charge too much its pointless for them to work and leave your child with them.

Most daycares average 3.25 an hour and they offer trained professionals

7 is probably quite a bit too high
