  1. Well... it really depends what you want for him. If you want him to become a religious extremist, tell him that muslims are evil, evolution is a lie and bush is a good leader.

If not, teach him the truth.

  2. You mean God?  If you can't even say His name, then you have bigger problems to overcome.

Tell them whatever it is that you believe.  They'll figure the rest out for themselves as they grow older.  Just encourage them to learn all that they can about religion and come to their own conclusions.

*Yes, his name is to be respected.  That doesn't mean that you can't say it or type it or write it or sing it though.  If people feel like they need to censor the word "God" (not saying that you were censoring it) then I feel like that's a big problem.

  3. Ok whatever...you take them to church? And it's not respectful if you're scared to say His name...it's really not. Because you're talking in a nice way...kinda weird but whatever...and also don't teach your kids to be afraid of saying God...when they use it in a nice way.

  4. I tell my kids what I believe, and then I tell them that everyone is different in regards to what they believe.  I tell them them that it is their choice.  Only they can decide what they believe and what they don't believe.  I encourage them to go to the odd religious event and form their own opinions.

  5. This is for Glenna - it is Jewish custom to write The Name thusly: G-d.  It is a sign of respect.  Jewish law does not forbid the writing of His name...it forbids the erasing of His name.

Hope this will help you understand the next time you see "G-d."

    Be well.

  6. "God" is a vision created by man. Jesus MAY have existed but "god" is merley mans imagination.

  7. I tell my kids I believe in God 100% and the Bible. What I do not believe in is organized religion but that's a whole different can of worms :)  Children can believe in unseen things easier than you think. God is an idea and a spirit and they usually get it. The ridiculous theory of evolution even a child can see through it when given the facts.

  8. I tell my kids what I believe, and I also tell them about what others believe (at their ages right now, without a huge amount of detail but enough to understand their friends' beliefs a little better).  I tell them that many people have very strong religious beliefs but their beliefs often conflict with other people's equally strong beliefs ... and it's hard to tell for sure who is right.  I tell them that it will be one of their very important jobs when they grow up to figure out what seems right to them, but that it's always important to be respectful of what others believe, since any of us could be wrong.
