How much money would you want to basically be the parents for a 15 year old girl. You obviously feed her buy her clothes drive her where she wants to go and let her go visit her parents 10 hours away. She's your daughters best friends and doesn't want to move away with the rest of her family so you agree to take care of her. How much money would you charge every month to do all that and more?

  1. normal childsuport

basicaly enough to help cover the cost of food and clothing

  2. If you make the choice to take her in and raise her as your child, the finances are your responsibility. Sorry.

  3. Mum, r u trying to get rid of me again?  I know putting a for sale sign in my bedroom window didn't work, but if I promise not to eat 4 loaves of bread a day do you think I could stay home a little longer?  After all, I'm only 47  :-)

  4. well the parents of the girl should set up a bank account that the girl has access to. The new "mother" would be in charge of the account, but the money should be strictly for the girls needs such as food, clothing, school supplies, etc. My 17 yr old brother in law just moved in with me and the only thing that i asked him to do is watch my son when i need him to. I do not charge him for anything and probably wont. His parents live 9 hours away also.

If the girl is not paying rent at home with parents why would she do it at the friends house? 15 is awfully young to charge someone shelter. As long as you "her" pay for all of you nessessities then that should be it.

  5. Just what her food and stuff costs. If you want to get paid to look after her, you're doing it for the wrong reason.

  6. I agree with the bank account idea.  If she is responsible enough to move away from her parents she should have access to money in which she has to manage.  The parents could deposit money as needed. They certainly should pay you upwards of $250 for food, water, power, incidentals.  You would also need to spell out who pays for her dinner if you go out to dinner, special requests at the grocery store, etc.
