Question:

Parents: What's a creative way to display your children's artwork?

My 3 year old daughter comes home with tons of artwork she does at school. I want to show her that it really is important to me, so I'd like to display some of it instead of just putting it away in her baby book.

Any inexpensive ideas?

  1. Well when I was little I remember my mom taking my artwork that I had done at school and putting it on the dining room wall. That way my family could all admire the pictures and such I had done!

After a few weeks she would take them down and add more... with all the things she took down she let me help her put them into a scrapbook!

  2. put it on the refrigerator, or put it in a frame and hang it in her room or your room, so you can see it every day without it getting ripped or something.

  3. i've recently found a way to do this that's so much fun.

if you have a piece of art here and there that you (or your child) really likes, you can scan it into a jpeg image and have it printed and stretched on canvas.  we've recently started doing this and i'm so glad i'll be able to keep them forever!! and they look really good on the walls!

  4. I saw this on a tv show once-- hang a string somewhere (kitchen, her room, etc) and have clothes pins on it. When she comes home with something new, pin it up, and take the older ones down and put them in her book. (You don't have to keep everything, by the way. It's hard to get rid of them, but just ask her to pick out her favorites and you pick out yours and keep those.)

  5. Clear one wall in your house and designate that wall for the "art exhibit"!  My 20 month old daughter loves to colour and paint and draw too.  I hang all the ones that she says "up" to.  That way it displays like an art show and the child can be happy to contribute to the home in an artistic way.  My daughter has a huge wall in our frontroom and when it gets full, we take them all down and pack them away and start all over again.  It's about 1/2 way full for the second time LOL.

  6. Designate a wall or section of wall in a common area (kitchen is where it is in my house) where everything can be put up (we do it collage style one on top of another and kinda scattered). As it become too full together it is decided what goes in the baby book (max of 3 pieces) and what she can take away and put in her room or if she wants in the trash. Most things usually hang for about 3 months, things on the bottom or under neither usually get taken down first.
